I have Netflix an Amazon Prime. I only have Cable because the Wifi through Spectrum would be more expensive just by itself. . I hope the Cell Companies will come out with something Soon. I'll change to that and Spectrum can kiss it! They try to hold people hostage, Just like the Landline phone companies!

Young people will either put directv, dish, and cable either out of business or force them to lower prices. I cant wait for this to start happening.

Absolutely true. Too many options for video out there. Streaming is only in its infancy. Assuming the greed doesn't get involved OTA reception with an antenna is a great alternative. Only in certain locations in our area, but nearer the transmitters you are crazy to pay for a digital signal that is available for no more than the cost of a cheap antenna. I'm very fortunate as I get about 30 channels off the air on a cheap Ebay antenna.

I can assure you that AT&T has not improved anything. Before AT&T drought DTV, they were actually considered to have the best customer service in tv providers. Aiming a dish when it was only elevation and azimuth was easy. However when they added skew to pick up more birds it became much more difficult.

Yeah, $99 service call to re-aim...

Or to change a bad LNB. I called and ask to buy one and they wouldn't sell it to me because they didn't want people to fall off their roofs replacing them. I said that not a problem mines on a pole in the yard and since I installed it myself I could handle changing the LNB. No dice they had to send a service guy out to change it and he told me the roof story is BS since they weren't even allow to get on a roof and would be fired for doing so. The customer service lady told me it would be no charge since I was a very long term customer which was a lie as well since a 100 dollar charge showed up on the next bill.

I called to dispute the charge and was told they would credit my account after I paid the fee. I still haven't paid it and don't intend to.

I never had issues with DirecTv except for the price increases. I always adjusted the Satellite myself if there were issues. It's not that hard, anyone with a compass can do it. However when I decided to drop them I had lots of issues. Piss poor customer service. My Bank actually called me to tell me they had blocked them from making charges to my credit card. They tried to take out a series of "fees" they claimed I owed. This was so common with customers that the bank recognized it as fraudulent charges. It may be better with AT&T but that left a bad taste in my mouth. I steam everything now. I use Hulu live and I still have local channels. The good thing is if you are thinking about going that route all of the services offer free trials. I tried them all and picked the one that fit my needs. It easy to choose, and also easy to change if you don't like it. I stream through game systems and I have a couple of rokus.

Had the same issue with Directv and equipment return when I cut them loose a couple years back. They send boxes for equipment return. These boxes are Fed Ex Smart Post boxes. This means their shipping is combined with the post office and Fed Ex. I packaged everything up and dropped off at the post office. Then for the next year the tracking # showed them in Greensboro at the mail service center. Fed Ex never got them. Directv tried to charge me an equipment fee. Luckily I got a descent Directv customer service rep who got things straightened out. I learned that you can drop off these boxes at a Fed Ex shipping center like Go Postal in WJ and it skips the post office altogether. My advice is to do just that if you are returning Directv equipment.
MAKE SURE YOU HANG ON TO YOUR TRACKING NUMBERS!

Go to cordcuttersnews.com great site to learn everything necessary about streaming. Just do your research on this site... WalMart sells the Roku stick for around $29. Do not need a smart tv

Screw directv. Kept raising the price on me. I would call them and they would lower it for about 3 months and raise it again.

I’ll repeat it, if your satellite service goes out every rain, then it’s not installed correctly. It needs to be re aimed.

AT&T bought the Time Warner networks, which includes HBO. They are using the ownership of HBO to get an unfair advantage. They have been sabatoging negotiations with other carriers when its time to renegotiate the HBO deal. This is getting them more subscribers than NFL

Huckleberry Hound, try keeping up. Joe didn’t tell me anything except that he had to switch to fiber. Nothing in his post contradicted my statement.

yep that all I was saying

I repeat.

If you use satellite technology you are living in the dark ages, and probably have the bubonic plague.
