sorry.need to "chime in."on this subject.
I fully support self defense,to protect yourself and others. To defend your property from theft or damage.
It's the law, yeah,I know. But? It's also the right thing. To act like you've got some sense. Not a complete idgit.
I assure any future criminal. Jails sux big time. Not worth it at all.
Have a nice day and always remember, you gotta chouce. Yes or No. A person is only dumb if they choose to be.

No, they should have been shot. They committed a home invasion. Big difference from B&E. Just running them off doesn't deter others from trying the same thing. But shooting a couple of them will make others think twice from trying to break into homes.

The kids did not need to be shot after they tucked tail to run.

They are someone's son or daughter.

Deadly force should only be used to stop someone intent on causing death or injury.

Shooting someone in the back is an act of vengeance or uncontrollable fear.

You will give up your guns, you voted for it.

I am a liberal but I am a realist also. I want a better world but I know we don't have one now. I would give up my guns but we can't even trust the cops. They are murdering people just like the criminals.

I owned a gun from the age of 10. My father and uncles carried loaded guns all their lives. No one was ever accidentally shot. A few people were shot but not by accident and none of them were family.

They kicked in a door to someone's home. They should have been shot even if the father had to follow them home to do it.

That just goes to show, guns owners are dangerous. That is what gun owners want the world to think, We are dangerous. Tread with care.

In a landmark study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1993, researchers found that having a gun in the home was linked with nearly three times higher odds that someone would be killed at home by a family member or intimate acquaintance. Studies using more recent data have come to the same conclusion. In a 2019 study, researchers found that states with high levels of household gun ownership have more domestic gun homicides than other states do. In fact, the quartile of states with the highest rates of gun ownership have 65 percent more domestic gun homicides than the quartile with the least, which is worrisome considering that domestic violence has worsened during the coronavirus outbreak.

And I checked... no, he had no legal right to shoot a retreating intruder, so I don't know why the dad wasn't arrested.

Unless of course you have little ones.

Why would you not keep a loaded handgun nearby is my question.

Rule of thumb, never be more then 30 feet away from a loaded gun. What is the use of having a gun if it is not loaded and easy to get to?

Could be, could be... I just think it's an interesting coincidence that he just happens to keep a loaded handgun nearby, and his son is a drug dealer.

The fact that he shot at the car as the kids were running away brings up another legal question... he wasn't protecting himself anymore, that was purely vengeful. Is that legal?

Maybe he jat doesn't want bad folk invading his home.

These three teens went to this other teens house at 10:30, kicked in the door, and tried to rob him and his parents.

Dad's not having any of that. He pulls a gun and runs the teens back to their car, which he shoots 3 times as they run away.

Come to find out, the teen that was getting robbed was, in fact, their drug dealer that they had decided to try to rob

Was Dad part of the drug trade, and that's why he keeps a loaded handgun on the table while he's watching TV? Who knows?
