During the month of July 2016, the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center�s Lucas Mansion Gallery will feature an exciting new exhibit by regional artist, Andrew Atkin. The exhibit, �To See is to Paint,� will be free and open to the public July 1st � July 30th.


The public is invited to attend a Meet the Artist Reception in Atkin�s honor on Sunday, July 10th from 3pm until 4:30pm in the Lucas Mansion Gallery. The reception is free to attend. Light refreshments will be served and the artist will be available to discuss his exhibited works.

Andrew Atkin describes himself as a �thematic painter,� meaning that his work centers on chosen subjects or themes, which are developed through his paintings for a certain period of time until the theme has been fully explored and expressed.

�To See is to Paint� will include works that emphasize the beauty of the mountains along with selections from the artist�s "Spirit Tree" series and pieces from Atkin�s "Peace Spreader" series.
