Experience Christmas Reel to Real at The Hiddenite Centers Lucas Mansion this Holiday Season Open Now Through Dec. 23rd
Step into your favorite classic holiday films and enter a world of Christmas movie magic during The Hiddenite Centers annual Christmas at the Lucas Mansion exhibits. This years theme, Christmas Reel to Real brings beloved holiday films to life throughout the Centers three story Victorian home, which houses a museum, gallery, and collections of antique dolls and toys.
The Hiddenite Centers lavish Christmas Reel to Real decorations will be open to the public at The Hiddenite Centers Lucas Mansion (316 Hiddenite Church Road in Alexander County) December 5th through December 23rd and December 29th December 31st during the Hiddenite Centers operating hours, which are Monday Friday from 10am until 4:30pm and Saturday from 10am until 3:00pm. Visit http://www.hiddenitecenter.com/ to plan your visit and learn more about the holiday schedule.
Upon arrival in the Lucas Mansions first floor museum, which features rooms restored to reflect family life in the early 20th Century, guests will be transported to a holiday wonderland of decorations that tell the story of classic films like Its a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, Little Women, The Nutcracker, Polar Express, and Miracle on 34th Street. Each room features extraordinary detail and over-the-top decorations that highlight favorite scenes from each film. The museum even depicts an old-fashioned movie theater lobby that is decorated in the style of the golden age of cinema.
We invite visitors to make The Hiddenite Centers Christmas Reel to Real at the Lucas Mansion a holiday destination during this special season, said Director of Communications, Miranda Burgin. Our movie themed decorations set the perfect scene for a day of holiday fun and festive memories shared with friends and family.
The Lucas Mansion Gallery, located on the second floor, is filled with an artistic display of decorated doors, featuring movie themes and family traditions. Winter scenes painted by local and regional artists grace the walls of the Gallery. The Lucas Mansion Gallery gift shop offers holiday shopping for handcrafted, unique, and one-of-a-kind artistic gifts. Gift shop sales will benefit local artists, crafters, and The Hiddenite Center.
Holiday movie magic continues on the third floor of the Lucas Mansion, which houses the Centers collections of antique dolls and toys. On the third floor, guests will interact with characters from much-loved childrens Christmas movies. Visitors will feel as though they have walked into a scene from the classic cartoon A Charlie Brown Christmas. The Charlie Brown room is complete with Snoopys doghouse and Charlie Brown himself. The young and the young at heart will be delighted to discover the decorations that set the scene for How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Visitors will even see the Grinch as he steals tree ornaments before their very eyes. One of the most memorable scenes from the iconic 90s movie Home Alone finds its way to the third floor and is sure to bring smiles and laughter to the faces of visitors who recall watching this Christmas classic.
Each time visitors experience our whimsical interpretations of classic Christmas films, they are delighted with the joy of the holidays and laughter fills the Lucas Mansion, Burgin went on to say. Many of our visitors enjoy stopping to take a picture with the Grinch or with Charlie Brown for posting on social media. This unique exhibit really is a one-of-a-kind holiday experience that is not to be missed!
Monday Friday from 10am until 4:30pm and Saturday from 10am until 3:00pm
