Due to impending weather conditions for Saturday, January 23rd, the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center has announced that their open mic poetry event, entitled "Dare to Speak the Word Aloud," will be rescheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2016.

Announces �Daring to Soar� Open Mic Poetry Event in Celebration of Dr. Maya Angelou

In conjunction with their January 2016 exhibit, �Daring to Soar: The Art of Courage, Artists Interpret the Words of Dr. Maya Angelou,� the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center will offer an afternoon of open mic poetry, entitled �Dare to Speak the Word Aloud.� This informal, creative jam session will be held on Saturday, January 23rd

Whether as an audience member or a participant in reading poetry aloud, everyone is invited to attend this community celebration of art, poetry, and creative expression. Coffee and cookies will be served. The event and the exhibit are open to the public and are free to attend.
