On Sunday, August 3, 2014, The Hiddenite Center will launch their first official Gallery Crawl with exhibit receptions at both the Lucas Mansion Gallery and the Educational Complex. The public is invited to participate in this afternoon of art and fellowship, which will be held from 3:00pm until 4:30pm at both locations.

The Hiddenite Center�s Educational Complex (70 Hiddenite Church Road) will feature a one-day only �pop up� gallery and reception honoring participants in the 2014 Summer Art Camp for children. This �Summer Vacation Station� themed camp for kids ages 4 and older provided instruction in a wide variety of artistic mediums including recycled collage, watercolor painting, drawing, and hand building in clay. The exhibit and reception will highlight the outstanding work produced by these talented young artists.

The Lucas Mansion Gallery (316 Hiddenite Church Road) will be host to a reception honoring the work of exhibiting artists Nelson Brookshire of Lenoir and Michael Joe Moore of Statesville. Their exciting new exhibit will be on display in the Lucas Mansion Gallery throughout the month of August. Brookshire and Moore are self-taught artists who bring distinct styles and unique approaches to their medium of choice.

Each gallery crawl exhibit reception will offer light refreshments, fellowship with art enthusiasts, and the opportunity to discuss work with the artists. The Sunday, August 3rd gallery crawl is open from 3:00pm until 4:30pm and is free to attend. Guests are encouraged to begin their crawl with a visit to the Summer Art Camp reception at the Educational Complex (70 Hiddenite Church Road), which offers ample parking. Afterwards, guests may leave their vehicles and stroll down the street to the Brookshire/Moore reception in the Lucas Mansion Gallery (316 Hiddenite Church Road). Additional parking will be available at the Lucas Mansion.
