In observance of Black History Month, The Hiddenite Center�s Lucas Mansion Gallery features a photography exhibit that recognizes the contributions of African American veterans from Alexander County. The exhibit, which will be on display through February 28, 2015, is part of the historical collection of Phyllis Bailey of Iredell County.

The public is invited to attend a community reception on Tuesday evening February 24th.. Light refreshments will be served and Phyllis Bailey will be available to discuss her ongoing efforts to collect and document the history of African American veterans.
