Featuring Memories: Portraits by Garry Moore
Alexander County Library Director, Laura Crooks, announced this week that the Library will expand their popular Bethlehem Branch Exhibiting Artists Series to include 2 month exhibits at the Main Branch in Taylorsville. Beginning March 1, 2016, the Main Branch will begin featuring exhibits that showcase local and regional talents in diverse visual arts mediums.
The first artist featured at the Main Branch will be Garry Moore of Statesville. In his moving exhibit, Memories: Portraits by Garry Moore, the artist uses his natural gift for capturing the true spirit of his subjects to tell meaningful life stories.
The public is invited to attend an Art After Hours reception in Moores honor on Friday, March 18th from 6pm 7:30pm at the Alexander County Librarys Main Branch, which is located at 77 First Avenue SW in Taylorsville. The reception, which is free to attend, will offer light refreshments, comments from the artist, and community fellowship. Memories: Portraits by Garry Moore will be on exhibit March 1 April 11, 2016.
In addition to deeply personal portraits of family members and friends, Moores exhibit features works commissioned by neighbors, Alexander County residents, and art lovers throughout the region. The exhibit showcases Moores skills in pencil, pastel, and air brush techniques.
