The public is invited to the 3rd annual National Night Out Against Crime event in Alexander County. The Alexander County Sheriff�s Office, Taylorsville Police Department, and the Alexander County Crime Stoppers organization will be partnering again this year to host the event to bring the community and law enforcement agencies together for a fun-filled family event. National Night Out in Alexander County will feature free hotdogs, popcorn, and bottled water (while supplies last), live entertainment from Ashlyn Loudermilt (5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.) singing southern gospel style music, and The Ian Triplett Band (7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) singing country music. This year, Wendy�s chicken sandwiches and Wendy�s frostys will be available for purchase (courtesy of Wendy�s of Troutman) as well as canned soft drinks. There will be a kid�s area with two bounce house/slide combo attractions, various emergency vehicle displays, fire education smoke house, DWI Checkpoint BATmobile bus display, a K-9 demonstration, opportunities to meet McGruff the Crime Dog, and more.
