Tickets are now on sale for the Hiddenite Centers Port-a-Pit Chicken Fundraiser, which is held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. This delicious Port-a-Pit chicken will be prepared by Koala T Katering of Statesville, which is widely known for high quality, distinctive flavor, and mouthwatering aroma. In fact, their Port-a-Pit chicken was ranked among the "100 foods you must eat in 100 counties" in North Carolina by Our State magazine.
The Hiddenite Center will be selling Port-a-Pit chicken meals on Tuesday, May 27th from 11:30am until 3:00pm. The Hiddenite Center will offer a pick up only location on the Alexander County Courthouse Lawn (29 West Main Ave.) and a dine in / pick up location at the Hiddenite Centers Educational Complex (70 Hiddenite Church Road).
Cost for each generously portioned meal is $8.00 per plate, which includes chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, roll, and dessert. A beverage will be available for additional purchase at both locations.
Local businesses are encouraged to contact the Hiddenite Center with carry out delivery orders for their office. The Hiddenite Center will provide FREE carry out delivery for orders of 10 plates or more to businesses located within a ten-mile radius of either the Hiddenite or Taylorsville location.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards funding the arts and cultural heritage services provided by The Hiddenite Center year round. Hiddenite Center Executive Director, Pete Woods says the fundraiser provides an easy and affordable way to support the arts in Alexander County.
Sharing a meal for a good cause is a wonderful way to spend your lunch hour, said Woods. Every dollar that benefits The Hiddenite Center goes back into our community through providing opportunities for more and more people to experience the arts. We encourage everyone in the community to join us for a meaningful and tasty lunch on May 27th.
Tickets for the Port a Pit Chicken fundraiser are on sale at The Hiddenite Centers Lucas Mansion in Hiddenite (316 Hiddenite Church Road).
Volunteers are needed at both locations to help serve plates, deliver orders, bake brownies, and help with cleanup! The support of individuals and businesses who would like to help with ticket sales would also be greatly appreciated. Call (828) 632-6966 for tickets, information, or to volunteer.
