This 33rd annual, one of a kind street festival offers free arts and cultural heritage activities for all ages.

Coverage includes images that capture the creative process of Art in Action. Watch as Artist in Residence, Helen Keever, captures the Celebration experience starting with a blank canvas and completing a painting by the end of the festival.

Additional Art in Action visuals include children and adults making craft projects from recycled materials, creating public art on chalkboard panels, and participating in a Celebration poetry wall sponsored by a group of teen poets.

Visual highlights include the Folk Life Pavilion, which features hands on folk life demonstrators in period costumes teaching children the timeless art of pottery making, butter churning, weaving, and open fire cooking (against backdrop of reconstructed log cabins).

In keeping with "Raising the Barn," a small-scale barn will be constructed in the Folk Life Pavilion during the festival.

The festival includes images of diverse performances in music, dance, and storytelling. Including the teen steel drum band Pandemic, Celtic music and Irish folk dance (dancers in costume), country & folk music, square dance, and contemporary music. Many performances are centered on the Hiddenite Center�s Lucas Mansion, which is a three story historic structure.

Regional artists and crafts vendors from throughout the region will be selling their handmade wares.

Coverage provides imagery of children�s activities, including a bounce house, and face painting. All of these cultural arts activities are set against the charming background of a small town in Northwest North Carolina.
